Amy Cubbage
President, North Carolina Partnership for Children
Amy Cubbage began her career as an early childhood teacher after completing her undergraduate study at Brown University. She went on to complete a J.D. at Northeastern University and an M.S. in Leadership and Policy in ECE from Wheelock College. Amy worked as a National Head Start Fellow for the federal Administration for Children and Families (ACF) and then consulted with early childhood education agencies on a range of topics, taught advocacy and leadership courses at both Wheelock College and Eastern Connecticut State University, and researched and wrote about early childhood education. Throughout Amy’s career, she has been an active board member of NAEYC affiliates. Beginning in 2008, Amy served as a consultant for the National Center for Research on Early Childhood Education at UVA and then joined Teachstone in 2010. There, she served as Manager of Coaching; Director of Training and Professional Development; Senior Advisor, Public Policy; and then Vice President, Policy and Strategy. Amy currently serves as President of The North Carolina Partnership for Children (NCPC), guiding, facilitating, and advocating for Smart Start, North Carolina’s early childhood system funded through a public/private partnership and consisting of a network of 75 local partnerships working in all 100 North Carolina counties to advance a high quality, comprehensive, accountable system of care and education for each child beginning with a healthy birth.
