Dr. Linda White
Director of Elementary Education and Title I, Edenton-Chowan Schools
Dr. Linda Layden White has been serving students in public education for more than 23 years. She began teaching in Perquimans County Schools, where she taught grades one, two and six. White finalized her teaching experience by serving as the Instructional Facilitator at Perquimans Middle School. During her tenure, White earned National Board Certification for Teaching in Early Adolescence, English-Language Arts.
After serving for one year as Dare County’s District Middle School Accountability Coordinator, White became the school system’s District Accountability Coordinator, providing testing and accountability support to the 11 schools in grades 3-12. White was also the Assistant Principal at the Cape Hatteras Secondary School of Coastal Studies, leading staff and students in grades 6-12.
White has also served as a Middle School District and School Transformation Coach for low-performing schools through the NC Department of Public Instruction’s Transformation Team. White later returned to Perquimans County Schools, successfully leading two schools during a “corrective action process” as Principal at Perquimans Central School and then Hertford Grammar School.
White currently serves as the Director of Elementary Education, Title I, Pre-K, and the Education Foundation for Edenton-Chowan Schools, where she holds licensure in the areas of Superintendent, Principal, Instruction and Curriculum Specialist, Reading, Academically and Intellectually Gifted, Middle School Language Arts, Middle School Social Studies, and Elementary Education.
